Just as every individual has their unique characteristics, so does each piece of leather from living cows and goats, with each animal having its distinct features. There might be scratches from running through the fields, marks from insect bites, or while the skin on their backs is tight, there could be wrinkles around their bellies and necks. If we were to eliminate all these characteristics and use only the flawless parts without any spots, wrinkles, or pores, we would end up discarding more than half of the leather from a single buffalo, for example. We strive to incorporate these imperfections and natural expressions into our products as much as possible, by carefully assessing the unique qualities, thickness, and softness of each piece of leather during the cutting process.

For instance, when making a long shoulder belt, attempting to cut it as one long piece would mean having to avoid many imperfections, resulting in a lot of waste. By dividing it into two parts, we can make full use of even the smallest sections of the leather. Furthermore, we constantly devise ways to minimize waste throughout the product development process, such as creating small leather parts from the remnants left after cutting. Through these efforts, we aim to respect the uniqueness of each piece of leather while also engaging in sustainable production practices that avoid wasting resources.
